Temperatures are dropping, and snow is piling up outside! Let’s cozy up with some warm tea and experiment with loops in animation. This week, we’ll explore how physics and materials affect falling objects, as well as a pile of snow versus an icicle. How fast will each fall? How will they land?

In practice, we’ll animate two loops: one of a snow pile tumbling from a roof, and one of an icicle dropping. Maybe we’ll add a little twist, a rabbit reacting to the falling objects: snow lands on him, the icicle spooks him!

By studying these loops, you’ll see how timing, weight, and impact can be conveyed differently in animation. It’s a simple, fun experiment you can try yourself, and it shows how even small details make loops feel natural and engaging.
