This video shows four different aspects of the shokuhin sampuru (food replica) production process using synthetic resin.

● Mold-making: The food items to be reproduced are arranged in a box and silicone is poured over them to make a mold. The next day, once the silicone has set, the food items are removed to reveal the molds.
● Casting: Colored liquid vinyl resin (polyvinyl chloride, PVC) is poured into the silicone molds and then heated in an oven. Once hardened, the PVC models are removed from the silicone molds, and any excess material is trimmed away.
● Coloring: The PVC models are then colored by hand using airbrushes, stencils, and paint brushes.
● Presentation: With reference to photographs and sketches, the different parts are assembled on a dish. A finishing gloss is then applied, and the process is complete.
