Game: Timecop
System: Super Nintendo
Version: (US)

This is the longplay of Timecop, an action and platform game produced by Cryo Interactive and distributed by JVC, being released in 1995 in the United States, Europe and Japan. It is based on the 1994 film of the same title and takes place after the events of the film, which starred actor Jean Claude Van-Damme. This is the SNES version.

The story of Timecop takes place in the future, where technology has received many advances, the most notorious being the possibility of time travel. When time travel is perfected to be used safely, several criminals take advantage of this technology to commit new crimes at other times in human history. A new type of policing called the Time Enforcement Commission (TEC) is created to ensure that the invention is not abused. The plot has as protagonist the policeman Max Walker, who is a member of TEC. Max must travel through time to stop the crimes of Hans Kleindast, a villain who intends to end everything simply because he felt like it.

In the game we control Max Walker, who can attack with punches, kicks and shoot with his pistol, in addition to having a stronger punch but which takes longer to hit. The game's graphics are quite polluted, the gameplay is horrible and the commands are very slow, just to give a strong punch or turn to the other side while running the character is already quite vulnerable. The hero has a handgun, but ammunition is very limited in certain parts of the game. Enemies, when they die, stand up and disappear, showing total negligence with the production of this game. The soundtrack was composed by David Cage, who in the future would be responsible for games like Heavy Rain and Detroit Become Human, but who before that worked on Timecop composing the songs, which are not that bad, but have elements that have nothing to do with the plot (listen to the music of the first stage, where there is a vocal that says "FBI, get on it", which seems to be being sung by a person who ingested helium gas before singing). Most levels take place from top to bottom and the game follows the same path downhill. Anyway, Timecop is yet another bad movie-based game. I hope you enjoy the video.
