This is a longplay of The Mask, an action-platformer exclusive to the Super Nintendo. Released in 1995, the game was developed and published by Black Pearl Software (a THQ subsidiary) in the United States and Europe, while Virgin Interactive handled distribution in Japan.

The game is based on the hit 1994 film The Mask, starring Jim Carrey as Stanley Ipkiss. Stanley is an insecure bank clerk at the local Edge City bank who is frequently ridiculed by everyone around him—except for his coworker and best friend, Charlie Schumaker. Meanwhile, gangster Dorian Tyrell, owner of the Coco Bongo nightclub, plots to overthrow his boss, Niko. One day, Tyrell sends his stunning girlfriend—a singer named Tina Carlyle—to Stanley's bank to scout the interior in preparation for a heist. Stanley becomes romantically attracted to Tina, who seems to return his interest. Unable to get into the Coco Bongo to see Tina perform, Stanley discovers a wooden mask near the city docks. Upon putting it on, he transforms into a completely manic, green-faced trickster in a zoot suit—calling himself "The Mask"—and gains the ability to manifest his innermost desires, whether good or bad, at will. As "The Mask," Stanley embarks on a comical adventure across the city, humiliating his various enemies in the wackiest ways possible. Stanley Ipkiss (transformed into "The Mask") must thwart Dorian's plans and save Tina Carlyle, the woman they both love.

In the game, you control The Mask as he traverses levels, defeating enemies and bosses to progress. Along the way, he navigates diverse environments, uses doors and elevators, and employs his immense flexibility to squeeze through tight spaces leading to other areas of the level. Beyond standard boxing-glove punches, the hero can wield bizarre weapons—such as a super-powerful horn, a hammer, and dual submachine guns—and execute moves like sweeps, a tornado spin, and super-speed dashes. These actions consume "Morph Energy"—points collected throughout the level that must be carefully managed, especially when saving up for more powerful attacks. Other items include health (hearts), extra lives (Loki masks), and hats (which serve as checkpoints). There is also Milo (The Mask's dog); appearing only once per level as an extremely rare item, he upgrades the hero's health and Morph Energy. The game features good graphics, and The Mask's movement is impressively detailed for the era; unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the enemies, which—while having decent movement—feature far fewer frames of animation. The soundtrack is solid and fitting, but the difficulty level is extremely high. This is partly due to the gameplay's excessive speed at times, making it hard to hit specific enemies—some of whom are strategically placed right where The Mask might appear when transitioning between areas of the map. The lack of a password or save system adds to the challenge; the game often messes with the player just as The Mask messes with his enemies, though beating it isn't impossible. While the game received some favorable reviews, it didn't achieve major success, having been released in 1995 and for its difficulty level, but it is well-recognized as a cult classic.
