In Original mode, the story revolves around the fight against a dictatorial government, which is assembling a powerful military arsenal made up of long-range missiles and you need to prevent these weapons from being used for evil. Arcade mode is, as the name says, completely faithful to the original version, whose story revolves around the kidnapping of a former American president, who was taken hostage to Africa and, due to political reasons, the government of the United States Unidos cannot act in the area, so it delegates the duty of rescuing him to you.
In the game, as the title itself says, we control a mercenary and need to shoot everywhere and eliminate enemies to complete the mission. In Original mode, the mission begins alone, but the player encounters more mercenaries, each with a different weapon, who can pick up items and buy upgrades to increase the characters life, weapon power and speed, as well as items of protection. Making upgrades well distributed and exploring well is essential. In Arcade mode, the game is much more direct, with the same plot as the original game and controlling only one mercenary, in addition to not being able to buy items, as they are all spread out in the scenarios, including an exclusive weapon. In both modes, it is possible to drive vehicles.
The game is really cool, even more so in the Mega Drive version because it includes two different modes, it has good graphics and an adequate soundtrack for a game of this type. The only negative point is that this version of the game is exclusively Single Player, unlike Arcade, where you can play multiplayer.

This is the longplay of The Combatribes, an action and beat n up game produced and distributed by Technos Japan, initially released for Arcades in 1990 and for Super Nintendo in 1992
The game centers on three vigilantes who must fight against numerous street gangs in futuristic New York City. These vigilantes are Berzerker (blonde character, with blue clothes and balanced status), Bullova (black character, who wears yellow clothes and has great physical strength) and Blitz (a character, apparently Latin, with ponytail hair, who wears red clothes and has great agility). The characters names themselves have their own meanings: Berzerker means is a name taken from a tribe of Norse warriors, Bullova references the name of a Native American battle axe, and Blitz is short for blitzkrieg, which means Lightning Strike.
The game has simple graphics and even relatively varied enemies, in addition to a cool soundtrack, but it is a difficult game. The stages are not well composed, you start in the corner, defeat some henchmen that appear, then walk two steps and fight the boss of the stage! The only cool thing is some cool moves, like grabbing enemies by the legs and spinning, stomping enemies while theyre on the ground, or slamming heads with heads. The fights against bosses, on the other hand, do not allow us to grab them, which makes combat difficult. Unfortunately the characters only use specials only in versus mode, when they should be present in story mode. The Arcade version allows 1 to 3 players to play (each with a different character) while the SNES version only allows 1 or 2 simultaneous players.
Its a game that had a lot of potential, but this SNES version is very generic and bad compared to the Arcade version (which has slightly better gameplay). The Combatribes is considered by many to be a spiritual successor to Double Dragon. The video was made in Single Player mode, Normal level and playing with Berzerker.
