The UK Atomic Energy Authority’s robotics facility, RACE, will lead a £12M joint project between the UK and Japan called LongOps. Working together, UKAEA will team up with UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) and Japan’s TEPCO to develop new robotics and automation techniques to advance fusion energy research and nuclear decommissioning.
