* 1 tablespoon vegetable glycerin
* Fill the rest of a 3 oz spray bottle with filtered water
Instructions:
1. Add oils and glycerin to a glass spray bottle.
2. Fill nearly to the top with water.
3. Shake well before each use.
4. Spray on skin, clothing, and gear before going outside. Reapply every 1–2 hours.

The most effective essential oils for preventing ticks include cedarwood, geranium, lavender, lemon eucalyptus, peppermint, and rosemary. These oils work by masking scents that attract ticks, like carbon dioxide, and creating an environment they avoid.
To use them safely:
Always dilute essential oils with a carrier oil (like coconut or jojoba) before applying to skin or pets.
For a spray, mix 10–15 drops of essential oil per ounce of water or carrier.
Reapply every few hours, especially after sweating or swimming.
A proven blend includes geranium, lemongrass, citronella, and lemon eucalyptus oils. Clove oil is also highly effective, with studies showing it can kill ticks quickly at certain concentrations.
