Crowds flocked to a Whitechapel convenience store in a last-ditch attempt to buy protective glasses before a rare solar eclipse is set to block roughly 90% of the sun on Wednesday evening.
An employee from the ‘4 Seasons’ barbershop, next door to the ‘AM2PM’ convenience store on Whitechapel High Street, said hopeful buyers continue to line the street waiting for the next stock delivery to arrive at 11pm.
