Loki had some great disability representation.
But it did something a little more for me...
Those of you who have followed me a while know I have issues with the terms "neurodivergent" and "neurotypical." We don't "diverge" from what is typical - this terminology centers a singular type of neurology and 'others' all other types.
All neurology is equally valid.
When the first season of Loki came out I was inspired to coin a new term "Neurovariant." When I had finally gotten around to make the video the strikes started and to stand in solidarity, I couldn't mention any struck projects.
So now with the release of Loki season 2 and the strikes over... I can finally give you my reasoning for Neurovariant and how it addresses the paradox that terms like neurodistict don't.
