Lawmakers, fire officials, and VFW leaders were all in attendance at Progress Fire Company for a skill games rally on Thursday night.
This comes as state lawmakers continue to discuss legislation that could keep the games from being considered illegal once the mid-October deadline passes. As of right now, lawmakers are in the middle of a 120-day grace period before enforcement.
At the rally this afternoon, numerous speakers shared why they felt skill games needed to stay in Pennsylvania.
"It's not like we're getting rich off this," said Rusty Miller, a volunteer from Mechanicsburg VFW #6704. "It's just a supplemental income that keeps our doors open. You know, since COVID, the membership has dropped off in all clubs like ours, and it's what keeps us going."
