Representing the home region, the East Lancashire Railway's 2025 Autumn Steam Gala sees a gathering of locomotives from the local LMS region. Headlining the event was Stanier Mogul 13268 making her first visit to the railway, and Ivatt 2MT 46441, making a return to the East Lancs after an absence of over 20 years. Additionally, making a return visit after last year's event, was 1863 built Furness Railway No.20, the oldest operational steam locomotive in the UK.
Complimenting the guest line-up was the East Lanc's home fleet of LMS 3F Jinty 47928 and a trio of ex-Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway locomotives, with all four locomotives carrying LMS livery and numbers. L&YR A Class 12322 would be renumbered as scrapped sister 12345; a loco which was allocated to nearby Newton Heath and Bolton sheds during service life.
L&Y Pug 11243, also sporting LMS livery, would perform shunting duties in the yard outside Bury Transport Museum with a mixed rake of L&Y and LNWR wagons, providing appropriate photo opportunities alongside services departing Bury Bolton Street station. Away from the LMS theme, on display at Bolton Street Station was BR(S) Bulleid Pacific 34081 '92 Squadron', dressed in full Golden Arrow regalia.
