A firm favourite of the heritage railway calendar sees our cameras return to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway for the annual Spring Steam Gala. Headlining the event was GWR Castle Class 5029 'Nunney Castle' and SR West Country Class 34046 'Braunton', with both locomotives visiting thanks to Locomotive Services Limited.
Another mainline steam visitor came in the form of LMS Black Five 45407 'The Lancashire Fusilier', having last visited the railway in more arctic conditions back in 2023. This year would see 45407 facing towards Keighley, providing the opportunity for some seldom seen angles of steam.
Running alongside the trio of mainline guests was many of the railway's familiar home fleet engines, including flagship KWVR liveried LMS Ivatt 2MT Tank 41241 and LNWR Coal Tank 1054. 'Ann' and 'Dora' reprised their roles on the Keighley-Ingrow shuttles throughout the weekend, running with a mixture of coaches from the Vintage Carriages Trust.
