Here is a little compilation of Fowler's little (yet powerful and rather popular) tank engine for the London, Midland and Scottish Railway: the 3F 0-6-0T "Jinty." Designed by Henry Fowler in the 1920s, these engines were superb examples of English tank engine engineering. The 3F could shunt, sort trains, are capable of passenger, freight and mixed goods trains and are well suited for either branch line or main line duties. Although not officially involved with the design of Thomas, the 3F served as some inspiration in John Kenny’s illustrations and the basis for some of Rev. Awdry’s models for his Ffarqhuar Branch.
Hope you enjoy!
