Jeff and Julie are the proud parents of three amazing kids: 9-year-old twins Hailey and Max, and 6-year-old Trey. Both Max and Trey have autism but present very differently. Trey, who has what’s known as profound autism, is non-verbal and not yet potty-trained. Diagnosed in the thick of the COVID-19 pandemic, Trey faced an uphill battle in accessing support, but Jeff and Julie didn’t hesitate to get him the services he needed. While seeking a new developmental pediatrician, they were rerouted to The Seaver Autism Center for Research and Treatment at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where Trey was invited to participate in a clinical trial. Through every twist and turn, Jeff and Julie remain anchored by a single hope: that Hailey, Max, and Trey each find happiness and success—however they define it for themselves.
