We're doing a hackathon (with a twist!)
Introducing the "Timbre Tools Hackathon," brought to you in partnership with Queen Mary University of London's C4DM Communication Acoustic Lab.
We invite audio and AI enthusiasts to spend some time with us in London and online to hack on some interesting tools that support the creative process of the digital instrument maker through a more sound-based, timbre-first practice.

Workshop Requirements:
SP-Tools Workshop Requirements
1. Max 8.3+
2. FluidCorpusManipulation 1.0.6+ installed from the Max package manager
3. SP-Tools v0.9 downloaded from github (github.com/rconstanzo/SP-tools/releases/latest)
4. An audio interface
5. Headphones
6. A microphone and/or instrument to run into Max
7. Some kind of MIDI controller (optional)
8. A folder of one-shot samples (ideally 100+ samples)
9. Asingle long recording (~5-10min) of you exploring an unusual sound source
10. Only the first two are really required, the rest is varying amount of preparedness beyond that.
Bela Workshop Requirements
1. Download the Docker desktop app (instructions here: docs.docker.com/engine/install/)
2. Once downloaded, run this command in the terminal "docker pull pelinski/xc-bela-container:v0.1.1" to pull the docker image
3. Bring headphones with an AUX cable (i.e., not Bluetooth headphones)
If there are any problems with docker we can look at them during the workshop. We would like to ask the participants to do this in advance since pulling the image takes some time, which we would like to invest in something more interesting during the workshop!

Neutone Workshop Requirements
No preparation will be necessary, but if participants want to try out the plugin during the tutorial, they can download it beforehand here: https://neutone.space/plugin/ and if they don't have a DAW, reaper is free and available here: https://www.reaper.fm/download.php
