If Medieval 2 had one big weakness, it was the lack of attention to detail recieved by the eastern factions. Broken Crescent, one of the oldest and still one of the best Medieval 2 mods, sought to correct this injustice by moving the entire focus of the campaign map eastwards, starting with Constantinople and ending with India. In this mod the rich history of the medieval Middle-east, Russia and Central Asia can be explored in exhaustive detail in what for me remains one of Total War's most educational experiences.
