My 3rd album, ‘Journey of a Beginner Guitarist’ should give you a general idea of the album - an artist with minimal or lack of experience on the electric guitar, and making the best out of it regardless. This was an idea I had since the start of 2024, after hundreds of jam practice and inspirations. Ive started playing on my 20th birthday in 2022, and here I am with two years of practice under my belt with many more to come.
The title idea was inspired by Manuel Göttsching’s solo album “Inventions for Electric Guitar”, an experimental album from 1974 where he created sounds using an electric guitar only that was unique for its time. This was something he was known for both as a solo act and as a member of the experimental krautrock band ‘Ash Ra Tempel’. I’m hoping to have succeeded in doing something similar without being an obvious knock-off.
The process of this album starts with the oldest tracks I came up with and finishes with the latest track I came up with. Every track wasn’t a complete track until late-2024, but rather things I’ve written, kept stored for future use, and then finalized the product in late-2024. Youll probably notice Ive gotten better at writing solos, but Im far from perfect or even a professional. Each track has a description on Bandcamp and SoundCloud for your interest in each track, as well as the dates Ive started writing them. (both in my head and on a digital paper)
The experience of creating this album within the last few months has made me improve on ambience and sound designs that I didnt expect was possible before I got a digital amplifier in 2024. (which I got for my 22nd birthday) Since I had no real-life studio, I knew I was limited, and I feared that my ideas would sound unprofessional and comically horrible. However, limitations were expanded after getting a digital amplifier, and my confidence was stronger than ever. Because of my amplifier - as well as the process of creating this album, Ive come to realize I can expand my creativity and sound designs. I will use this to my advantage on my fourth album. My fourth album will be electronic music, as my first and second were, alongside my singles. I hope to release it sometime in 2025.
