1.3 million Cambodian’s work abroad- nearly half of whom are women. Many women migrant workers take risks in search of opportunities to support their families. However, their journeys often involve serious challenges, including limited documentation, lack of protection, and discrimination. Women deserve safe and decent work and fair treatment and access to social protection. This short video highlights their resilience and contributions while calling for a better understanding of women migrant workers in Cambodia.
The video was produced by male university students from PSE Film School under the 7000 Photo Project, implemented by UN Women and funded by the European Union, as part of the PROTECT Programme. It is an outcome of the Live Brief activity, a practical initiative that engages male university students to reflect on women migrant workers’ experiences through dialogue and visual storytelling.
