LITTLE NIGHTMARES VR: ALTERED ECHOES on Meta Quest - a 6DOF Reviews review.
Omar Kamel on Iconik's VR adaptation of Tarsier Studios' beloved horror platformer. Score: 7/10 - Six Degrees of Creepy.
Almost ten years after the original launched, the LITTLE NIGHTMARES franchise finally comes to VR. ALTERED ECHOES picks up after the events around the Pale City - The Thin Man captures Six, and you, Dark Six (a shadowy, glitchy part of Six), get left behind. What follows is a roughly 3-4 hour journey through impossible geometries, looping doors, monstrous commuters, music boxes, and a very particular kind of macabre nightmare logic. Iconik leans hard into climbing, crouching, and rope traversal in lieu of jumping, and the game keeps the franchise's atmosphere intact while making the sense of scale feel immediate in a way the flat games never quite could. Some rough edges (slow movement, run-button quirks, Quest 3 graphics held back by Quest 2 parity), but on the whole - a faithful, eerie, and worthwhile VR translation. 7/10. Six degrees of creepy.
