Probably my favorite main world that I loved to visit as a kid, over and over...
Sure, I was scared of the little urchin fellas, but at least I got to stare at all the slightly low-poly chef faces. I understand why revisiting the area after completing the main campaign would make all the other chefs disappear, but I miss when it used to look so lively!
This area is really, really well-designed. It truly makes you feel like you're in the thick of dinner rush, all these chefs going around, balancing their tasks as carefully and yet as quickly as they can, from stove top to oven, cleaning this, cutting that; decorating these, garnishing those; being a line chef is really-- AHH, A RAT!! Oh nevermind-- really hard wor-- AHH A RAT!! Oh, nevermind again. It's really hard work, is what I was gonna say.
I used to really like climbing around this place, using the little cocktail umbrella to glide around aimlessly even after all the missions were finished. I liked to imagine I was playing as Remy, hanging out with Linguini and gathering a bunch of ingredients to help out the chefs there. One of my favorite areas to play around on was the section with all the ingredients laid out on a table. They look so low-polygonally scrumptious...
Also, it's fun getting to see Linguini have a status bar that never ticks up because he knows you. And that frog with the fucking spoon too, what was up with that thing? You never see it again I don't think. So strange.
