Welcome to part twenty eight in this series of videos in which I take the advice of all of those Christian fundamentalists and read my bible - literally
You see if you are going to believe in the literal "truth" of the bible and take it literally then literally is the only way that you can read it.
In this episode The events of the last episode are completely ignored as if they had never happened and Isaac blesses his son Jacob, knowing full well that it is Jacob and not Esau and then sends him off to his inlaws to go get himself a wife because after all what is good enough for the Father is surely good enough for the son and cousin fucking was all the rage in those days.
Of course this is just the beginning of the tale but as the Lord is not as active in the world as he once was, when he ends up appearing unto Jacob, he appears in a dream rather than in person which of course has Jacob literally shitting himself out of fear and the reader thanking the lord that those that did put genesis together, editing it from other texts while attempting, but failing, to make a consistent story did ditch the bit about Jacob dreaming about suddenly finding himself completely naked while giving a lecture to the Canaan goat rearing society about artificial insemination techniques.
Of course, Jacob being an astute businessman, turns this situation into an opportunity and has a proposition for the lord making him an offer that the Lord cannot refuse that would have lasting consequences for the rest of us
