Linux 7.0 officially drops with new hardware support, performance improvements, legacy hardware like i486 is being removed, new AI-focused keyboard keys. Multiple serious vulnerabilities were patched (including Flatpak and kernel issues), and new tools are being developed to detect malicious USB devices. Mesa is evolving fast with a new shader compiler, GenAI policies, and Fedora allowing faster updates.
