Senator Lindsey Graham died suddenly this weekend after suffering an aortic dissection, according to a statement released by his office.

Graham served as a Republican U.S. Senator for 23 years, representing the state of South Carolina.

After the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, Graham stated that Joe Biden was "lawfully elected" the president of the United States, and encouraged former Vice President Mike Pence to certify the election results because it was "the Constitutional thing" to do.
