Sofia Boutella spoke to Brut. about starring in Only What We Carry, a fully improvised drama that premiered at the 2026 Tribeca Festival.
Directed by Jamie Adams, the film was made without a traditional script and shot over just 6 days on the Normandy coast.
Boutella stars as Charlotte Levant, a celebrated Moulin Rouge dancer whose confidence is shaken by a remark from her former choreographer, played by Simon Pegg. She returns to Deauville with her sister, played by Charlotte Gainsbourg, where unresolved tensions and long-buried secrets begin to emerge.
The ensemble cast also includes Quentin Tarantino, Lizzy McAlpine and Liam Hellmann.
