Jury deliberations are underway in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial after emotional closing arguments that left several jurors visibly crying inside the Plymouth, Massachusetts, courtroom.
Clancy does not deny killing her three children in January 2023. Her defense argues she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and lacked criminal responsibility when the children were killed.
Defense attorney Kevin Reddington focused his closing argument on Clancy's mental health treatment and the medications she had been prescribed in the months before the killings.
Prosecutor Jennifer Sprague argued Clancy knew right from wrong and deliberately planned the killings, pointing to previous thoughts about harming her children and arguing she sent her husband on additional errands to give herself time to carry them out.
Jurors can consider several possible verdicts, including first-degree murder, second-degree murder, manslaughter, not guilty, or not guilty by lack of criminal responsibility.
