Upgraded my aluminum welding capability by buying an aluminum capable mig unit. More videos to come. I had the Hobart Handler 180 for mig and a Lotos Tig200 for aluminum. The tig was slow and a little on the weak side for the heavy welding I needed it to do. It would barely weld the aluminum with Argon. To do it I had to keep the pedal floored at 200 amps the entire time. It did much better with helium but the speed was too slow for production rate work. The Power Wave S350 setup is very expensive new. I found a used package for steel and aluminum for $3,000.00. The water cooled push pull is $2,400.00 by itself. The Hobart is going to my son and the Tig200 still not sure where it will go. Possibly sell it to get additional accessories for the power wave once I decide what other functions I may want to do with it.
The XR Aluma Pro is a Miller Push Pull gun and in factory state is not compatible with the 25M feeder. I replaced the Miller 14 Pin connector on the gun with a Lincoln 12 Pin and wired it to match the 25M. Got a Miller receiver bushing to accept the Miller power pin and was in business.
