On Sunday 23 March Lights in the Dark with Vasily Petrenko continues at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall with music by composers who were forced to flee from their homeland, and in doing so, irrevocably influenced the music of the places they would settle in.
Vasily Petrenko conducts Bartók’s spectacular Concerto for Orchestra and Korngold's swashbuckling The Sea Hawk, while International Chopin Competition winner Bruce Liu plays Rachmaninov's Variations on a Theme of Paganini.
