Making the life cycle of a frog craft is a good way to show kids how tadpoles turn into frogs.
When spring comes, it gets warmer. Frogs croak in the pond and lay eggs that look like spotty jelly. The babies, called tadpoles or polliwogs, hatch out of them. They do not look like frogs. They look more like little fish. Next month they grow legs. The hind legs grow first, then the front legs. When a froglet grows lungs, its tail shrinks away. It becomes a frog!
The process in which a tadpole turns into a frog is called metamorphosis, and it is an amazing transformation.
