Lichtenberg Mountain towers over Valhalla Lake and offers fantastic panoramic views of the Central Cascade Mountains. While Valhalla Lake, adjacent to the Pacific Crest Trail, is a popular destination, Lichtenberg Mountain receives very few visitors. There is no trail to the summit from the lake, and the Class 2 scrambler’s route involves plenty of rock hopping and route-finding skills. However, the views from the top and the supreme sense of solitude you experience make the effort worthwhile.
