Marten Lake, with its aptly named Martin Creek outflow, is a wonderful place to enjoy thundering waterfalls and a tranquil alpine lake. The route begins along the Taylor River on a former Forest Service road and offers several views of the surrounding peaks along the way. Upon reaching Martin Creek, there is an unmaintained trail/route that roughly follows the creek until you reach the lake. Route-finding skills and basic scrambling techniques are required, but you are rewarded with pristine old-growth forests and mesmerizing water features that make all your effort worthwhile.
