Liberals spent $135 million of Canadian taxpayer money to give people in Ghana free motorcycles.
The program delivered:
• 3,196 motorbikes
• 266 pickups
• 16 station wagons
• Uniforms and work boots for 2,300 farm agents
Auditors later noted accountability weaknesses. Many recipients could not afford fuel or spare parts. Lower-cost, lower-quality motorcycles were selected.
