Surrounded by striking scenery, the Levator Gordejuela is one of the most iconic and photographed ruins on Tenerife. Although it looks like a phantasmagorical castle or church, in reality, it is the ruin of the 1903 water elevator built by the Hamilton Company. It can be explored safely from a distance, or for the more adventurous, by descending down a steep cliff.
