Denise Baker, artist and printmaker from Southern Pines in North Carolina. In 2006, Denise visited Newry on an exchange programme. During this visit, she formulated her ideas and invited ten Newry lecturers to partner with ten Sandhills Community College professors to spend the following year to only communicate via postcards as penpals. The correspondence built up to over 1,000 postcards and formed the materials for an art exhibition that went on show in November 2007. This series of interviews discuss the adventure and the importance of building up relationships to help build communities, especially of artists and creatives.
