This episode of 'Let's Talk' is an interview with Siraj Zaidi, actor, writer, and director.
In part 1 he talks about his early years in India, choosing to be an actor, moving to London to study drama, then living in Dublin.
We also discuss how important exploring his faith was during the early years in Ireland but his main focus was on acting working in film and television. Being in the West also gave him an opportunity to see a different perspective of world event through the more liberal media.

Siraj Zaidi grew up in Lucknow, India. After graduating from the University of Lucknow, he chose a career as an actor in theatre and television. Moving to Delhi, he worked as an actor at the "Little Theater Group". In 1982 he studied at LAMDA in London and graduated with the degree in performing arts. He found work recording voice-overs for the BBC world services. However, at the time immigration laws prevented him from staying in England but he found a warmer reception in Dublin, Ireland where he finally settled since 1989. His career span from radion, television, and film including acting in a 10 part TV drama - Samvidhan (Constitution) in 2013. He set-up the Annual Indian film festival of Ireland through his company Bollywood Ireland Ltd. He is currently developing several personal film drama projects, having successfully developed and produce a range of documentary broadcast on BBC NI, UTV and RTE.
