One of the best things about being a part of a fandom like Alien and Predator is how often we are able to see our fellow fans express their passion and creativity through the plethora of fan produced content. We typically see this expressed as fan films, but so often we will also see fans produce their own games.
If you join us on our regular Sunday live streams, you will have no doubt heard Corporal Hicks and TheXenoPlays talking about this fantastic GameBoy inspired Alien vs. Predator fan game that they've been enjoyed. This game is USS IOLAUS!
"The USS IOLAUS has deployed a 4-man tactical squad on a mission to rescue a team of scientists held captive in the jungles of LV-475. What begins as an assault against well armed soldiers quickly turns to a battle for survival as the marines find themselves hunted by horrors beyond their comprehension. Fight, explore, and survive across this Gameboy adventure where enemies lurk around every corner, and watch as one by one your squad is picked off by seemingly invulnerable forces."
Built using GB Studios, USS IOLAUS is inspired by many different game genres of the GameBoy platform. The game isn't fully completed yet, but developer Abistar has released a demo with well over an hour's worth of gameplay. Alien vs. Predator Galaxy's TheXenoPlays and Corporal Hicks recorded a Let's Play and commentary on the demo!
