Sensible World of Soccer on the Commodore Amiga is, in my opinion, the best football (soccer) game ever made - better than any Fifa or Pro Evo simply because the gameplay is unrivalled.
Everything about Sensible Soccer was perfect, it wasn't too easy, wasn't too hard, the controls were basic but easy enough to master, it wasn't predictable and you had to work hard to beat the good teams and to win the league.
Anyone born in the 80s or 90s and loved football, loved this game and it's no coincidence that Amiga Power Magazine said it was the best game ever made for the games system.
Sadly, the game never ported very well after its Amiga heyday. It did go to handhelds like Gameboy and even to XBox Live, but the mobile version of the game just did not work.
In this video I play three games and I play as new Premier League champions Liverpool, the 96/97 champions Manchester United, and then as the team I support, Leicester City. This is my first play for more than 20 years so watch the video and see how I get on.
This is the very best retro football game and one I wish came back to a console like Nintendo Switch.
