We've entered the third episode of the campaign and as is fitting for the one where we face the NME, the first level of it has a huge group of robots. It also has a lot of keys that require you to some pretty invovled puzzles to get to them, but that any of them are required to leave the level. The exit may be guarded by all the robots, but no key stops you from taking it. What should stop you, however, is your curiosity as to why the keys are in the level in the first place if they're not required.
This video is a pretty long one, perhaps the longest one there'll be in the entire playthrough of Rise of the Triad, but the payoff is reaching the secret level and let me tell you, that's something I don't want to miss.

![Lets Play Pac-Man Special Colour Edition [Strobe Warning]

Ive written at length about Pac-Man numerous times while dicussing other Game Boy ports of arcade classics. Its one of the huge successes of the arcade golden age and the oldest video game mascot. It also got more than one port, the first of which was for the original Game Boy. As fun as it was, it couldnt fully capture the look and feel of the arcade cabinet, but that changed with the Game Boy Color ad the Pac-Man Special Colour Edition.
Released in 1999, the Pac-Man Special Colour Edition has both Pac-Man and puzzle game Pac-Panic (otherwise known as Pac-Attack) on one cartrige. Both were previously released for the original Game Boy, but now sport colour graphics. Pac-Panic taks you with setting up ghosts and walls in a play area, then putting Pac-Man down to eat them before the screen fills up. Pac-Man, on the other hand, is the same game we know and love, but with one key difference. Compared to the orignal Game Boy version, this one gives you the option of playing with the proper resolution but a scrolling screen or half resolution with everything on display, allowing for better knowledge of where the ghosts are. The option is greatly welcomed as it makes the game that much more enjoyable. The sounds arent the same as the arcade version, but that is a relatively minor concession in an otherwise great package.
All in all, this is great for someone who wants Pac-Man on the go - insomuch as it could be in the late 90s - with the bonus of an additional puzzle game. Fans of the franchise should absolutely check this out.
As for whats coming up next, I think I should check out the other games in the Pac-Man series that got the special colour edition treatment. One of them is almost as beloved as the origina Pac-Man, but the other game bundled with is... Well, its certainly one of the Pac-Man games of all time.

![Lets Play Shelly Club #02: Barbie Wishes it, so it Shall Be [Strobe Warning]

Some say that the ritual will never happen. They claim that its always one step away from completion and that the true ritual is the devotion to Barbie that those who participate have deep in their souls. The truth is so clataclysmic, so befuddling and so alien that I couldnt even begin to explain it to you here save for one thing: when it is finally completed, we will know. Oh, all the universes will know.
Then they shall know Barbies mind, Barbies will. Then they will know true terror.
Shelly Club is a game aimed at very young children and while it succeeds in being a set of super simple minigames, it could have been a lot more. The graphics could have been better without too much effort, the music was just there and the minigames themselves lacked any real challenge whatsoever. The option to make them a lot harder wouldve gone a long way, but the developers had a list of criteria and my, did they accomplish them. It doesnt stand out as a late Game Boy Colour title nor as a Barbie game, leaving it an oddity that was quickly forgotten by most people. Im glad that I played it to complete the GB/GBC Barbie Saga, but its given me little reaosn to return to it.
So, whats next? I think its high time we checked in our Derek, our two times hero, champion rock thrower and master tree climber. Surely another land is in desperate need of his can-do attitude and ability, not to mention his mastery of finding unique ways to perish that no-one would even think to try.

![Lets Play RoTT Ludicrous Edition - The HUNT Continues #13: Pineapple Salad [Strobe Warning]

The game might post a par time for every level like Wolfenstein 3D and Doom, but you can certainly speed through the levels if you know what youre doing. I cant begin to imagine how fast you can reach the exit by utilising the many quirks of the engine. I am not one to skip huge chunks of a level intentionally, but this is one where I found myself truly stumped.
Try as I might, I simply couldnt find a way to activate the GAD thats probably meant to give you access to the end of the level. Its very likely that I missed something incrediably obvious that I would love you all to tell me in the comments, but theres another way to get over a small wall in this game that is rocket jumping.
One way or another, we will stop El Oscuro, even if I have to rocket jump a hundred more times in the process. I wonder if that scares jhim more or less than us heroically vandalising all his valuables and light fixtures.
