The final level of Extreme RoTT is both easier and harder than the original. It's harder in that the area you need to fight El Oscuro in is smaller, has less places to hide and is seperated from an area with lots of his eggs - an area guarded by some monks, of course - by only a single door. There's also some eggs hidden away quite sneakily before the final encounter that you can lock yourself out of reaching.
It's easier, however, because we know what El Oscuro is capable of. We know to use rockets on him while he's over the burning parts of the map, we know to always keep moving and we know that the game will give us all the weapons and health we need to prevail. We can only hope that this time El Oscuro isn't able to save himself like he did before.
It's a slim hope, but who knows? He might mess something up or even better, fate may decide to play a cosmic joke on him...

Now that we finally have the local currency of Tarna, Derek is free to spend the rest of his time in the city buying everything that isnt nailed down. After all, if someone is willing to sell it to us then its bound to have a use at some point in the game. Even the more mundane things like fish and fruit can act as extra rations and while we dont need to track our thirst like we did in Shapeir, waterskins will serve their own awesome purpose in due time.
Having spendable money is als how were going to access our very first death and my, is it a silly one. All Ill say is that it involves the apothecarys store, our tinderbox and not knowing when enough is enough.

The second episode of the new campaign has new developer orb to collect which makes this secret level the only significant thing you can miss. Leons Scary Basement is level that is both large and claustrophobic as well as pretty gloomy, something you can exacerbate by shooting out the lights. One of the traps in the game revolves around you doing that by mistake, making it harder to spot the enemies you alert by doing so.
Aside from the theming, this level doesnt offer anything that you havent seen before, but that doesnt mean that its not fun. After all, theres plenty of heroic vandalism to be getting on with and knowing that every thing we break hurts El Oscuros bank account brings a little smile to my face.
