GADs are quite the marvel in the game engine of Rise of the Triad, but so also are the spring pads that can send you flying through the air. They're placed in levels to reach elevated platforms, soar over dangerous areas and in this level, to allow enemies to bounce on your head for massive damage.
You have a lot of control when being bounced about and you're going to need that to navigate the Hoppe Hop. Make sure you save often and in different slots, for it's very easy to get yourself stuck with no way to continue without reloading or retrying the level with a pistol start.
