I'M READY FOR COOKING VIDEOS !!!! shout out to my friend angela for suggesting i start #cookingwithxan so more people know about shanghainese cuisines (including myself) 🥳 now i'm 1) improving my cooking skillz, 2) feeling a deeper connection to my culture and, 3) eating good. i'll likely branch out because the only other shanghainese foods i thought of are all VERY difficult to make from scratch. if you have any recipe/cooking requests, let me know~~~

also!! i want to say you can easily make a vegetarian/vegan version of this dish by not using meat. i originally wanted to do that, but my parents argued that it “wouldn’t be authentic” and said they wouldn’t eat it otherwise. 😭
