moolawn. this new disney live-action adaptation of the beloved, iconic animation, as well as the chinese ballad, has problems across the board. i couldn't even get into them all & this video essay is 30 minutes long.
did you spend $30 on top of your disney plus subscription for an emotionally hollow retelling that doesn't take advantage of its potential/budget and doesn't have mushu, li shang, cri-kee, or music?
let's fix this thing. let's script-doctor it (without getting too much in-depth because there's just so much). let's make some post-production tweaks. let's do some reshoots. if only we could.
