Personal financial statements, such as a balance sheet and a budget, help you understand your financial position so you can make informed decisions.

You might be wondering, what type of budget is best for me? A mental budget? A physical budget? A written budget? A computerized budget? All can work, as budgets should be simple. They’re a compass to follow, not a straitjacket. A successful budget is one that is realistic.

Create a plan for you to support your goals using IFDM's budget template: https://ifdm.stanford.edu/resourcehub/financial-statements
