As a chronically ill person, I often have to push myself to do the things I love, I have to push myself to create, so as I've said before, hitting that publish button gives me great feelings of success. Creative fulfillment and community are the two main ways I get to feel successful, making connections and being visible, sharing in conversations with members of my communities, and enlightening those who are not.

Plastic straws are necessary medical tools and creating legal bans endangers the lives of disabled people. In this video I talk about the history of its use, why alternatives do not work, the variety of ways banning them is dangerous and stigmatizing, and my hope that environmentalism becomes more intersectional and acknowledges the needs of disabled people without dismissing them as lazy or wasteful.

Spoilers! (CW: visuals of blood, re: vampire, werewolf transformations, hanging scene, discussion of grief & loss, death) The U.S. version of Being Human is a show that I started watching when it originally premiered in 2011, but for a time period after I didn’t have cable so I fell behind. I picked it up again this year to finish the final two seasons on Netflix.
When I started watching the show I wasnt as ill as I am today, in fact, at that point I wouldnt have considered myself to be ill at all. So when I picked the show up again I was washed over by a wave of metaphors by the series and decided to rewatch the whole thing.
Because its an older show I will be absolutely analyzing this with full-on spoilers so I recommend watching this video if youve already seen the series or if you dont mind being spoiled!
