Kadri-Ann Sumera, piano
Lepo Sumera (1950-2000) was an Estonian composer and teacher whose music often emphasizes contrast and creative use of very little musical material. For more on Sumera, see my score video of his second symphony: youtube.com/watch?v=NUPr_tzujiE
"Pianissimo", written in 1976, is one of Sumera's early works, yet it contains many hallmarks of his later music: enchanting, repetitive sonorities inspired by the incantations of Estonian runic songs, the use of indefinite notation, and a characteristic whimsicality in the unexpected middle section. It is played here by the composer's daughter, Kadri-Ann Sumera; you can find her own channel at @kadrunn .
