Talking Tech visits Lenovo at #CES2026 to check out two new flagship laptops with #IntelCoreUltra Series 3 codenamed Panther Lake. Lenovo’s engineers created a two‑sided motherboard for the new ThinkPad X1 Carbon that’s drastically smaller than the previous generation, making space to boost thermal capacity for more performance, and lower fan noise without adding weight. The new internal layout also unlocks huge gains in repairability: the back cover comes off with four captive screws, the battery swaps with three, and the keyboard now comes out in under four minutes. Even the Thunderbolt 4 ports are modular, making the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 Aura Edition a boon for DIY repairs.
Next, Lenovo shows off the Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura Edition, one of the lightest 14‑inch Yogas ever at just 2.15 lbs. It features Lenovo’s soft‑touch Yoga coating across the entire chassis, plus Intel Core Ultra X9 processors with Intel Arc graphics. There’s also a special Cosmic Blue FIFA Edition with a soccer-themed trackpad.
