Lenny Abrahamson is one of my favourite directors, and the fact that he’s also Irish is incredibly inspiring! His first film, Adam And Paul, was a film he shot entirely in Dublin, about people from Dublin! It wasn’t romanticised, or over-exaggerated, but it was about genuine Irish people, in a way I hadn’t seen them depicted before. He followed this with GARAGE. An amazing film exploring loneliness, and then of course his career skyrocketed, with WHAT RICHARD DID. He also got to Direct FRANK, quite possibly my favourite Lenny Abrahamson film. A film loosely based on the real life person of Frank Sidebottom. He also got to direct ROOM. An adaptation of the novel by Emma Donoghue. Starring Brie Larson, And Jacob Tremblay, a film which nabbed him an OSCAR nomination! On top of that, his most recent feature was The Little Stranger, an adaptation of the novel by Sarah Waters. Speaking of adaptations, he was one of the brains behind hit TV Show, NORMAL PEOPLE, adapted from the novel by Sally Rooney. His most recent TV Show was the hit show, Conversation With Friends! I’m incredibly grateful Lenny would take the time to chat! He’s a legend!
