Concert of the year? I have seen many great concerts at this venue, but I don't remember ever seeing the 'Ancienne Belgique' light up, as it lit up for Lucie, Elisa and Juliette, who played a great set including their new album 'poupées Russes' and some superoriginal coverwork from the viral summerjams they made in the past few years. The singing is flawless and layered. The instrumentalism is varied, and smoothly mixed with light electro music. Fresh and up to date HHQ French Chanson with many nostalgic references to French song culture, which stuck around in my head for days after the concert. I went to this gig with good expectations but did not expect to be overwhelmed by such sheer energy and talent. Moreover I walked away with a signed vinyl. = 'Me happy.' :) Who doesn't know these ladies already, should keep an eye/ear out for L.E.J.
