SPEAKER BIO:
Philip Blair is a black & white landscape photographer based in Seattle, Washington. His intimate, native knowledge of Oregon and Washington takes him to places both well and lesser-known in this uniquely beautiful part of the country. His primary focus is in the production of fine prints that connect personal and autobiographical emotion with the enchanting visuals found throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Philip has been a Leica M photographer for 11 years, with emphasis on the Leica Monochrom-M. He is currently working with the Leica S system, and has also used the Leica SL, Q and D-lux systems in various projects.
Philip partnered in November/December 2018 with Leica Store Bellevue on his “Solitude: Snow and Ice” exhibit. He has worked with Leica Akademie for two sold-out events in 2019, “The Monochrom Landscape,” and “Alpine Photography with Philip Blair.” His new book titled Solitude: Snow and Ice, by Chatwin Books in Seattle, is in the works for release in the first half of 2021. He will be teaching once again with Leica Akademie USA in January & February 2021 on the topic of Winter, solitude and creative vision.
