Seedlings need a lot of light that does not give off much heat! Fluorescence light bulbs are the perfect light to use on seedlings. The bulbs should be within 3 to 4" of the tops of the plants. As the plants grow you need to raise the light to keep the bulbs from ever touching the tops of the plants. I have been doing this for 30 years and it works
