Legatum Institute CEO, Baroness Philippa Stroud, responds to the Queen's Speech in the House of Lords by emphasising the importance of broadening our view of prosperity and expanding the current focus of the UK Government's 'Levelling-Up' agenda.

During her speech, Baroness Stroud highlighted the need for a framework to understand which policies are needed to drive prosperity in different areas of the UK, and a baseline against which to assess the effectiveness of new initiatives. She noted that the Legatum Institute's UK Prosperity Index not only provides this framework but can also help policymakers identify the relative strengths and weaknesses of communities across the country.
